Going into the contest, Kelce scored 83 touchdowns throughout his career. He stood tall as one of the best scorers in the franchise's history, getting closer to the mountaintop every time he caught the ball in the end zone.
They were due for a big rivalry matchup against their division opponent in the Broncos. Denver has had a strong start to the season while Kansas City has been shaky in the same timeframe. As a result, this contest was important for both sides.
It took a while for Kelce to make history, but he finally got it during the early minutes of the fourth quarter. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw the ball to Kelce as the star tight end reached the end zone to score the 21-yard touchdown. With the score, he now holds the all-time franchise record for most touchdowns, via NFL insider Adam Schefter.

Kansas City had to handle Denver's stout defense for most of the game. This prevented them from making explosive plays on a consistent basis. Kelce's touchdown helped keep them within reach, but the hosts still made enough plays down the stretch to stop the visitors on their tracks.
Patrick Mahomes did what he could to produce scoring opportunities for his team, but Denver's defense kept him in check quite often. He completed 29 passes out of 45 attempts for 276 yards and a touchdown and an interception.
Kareem Hunt had a decent night leading the rushing attack, having 13 carries for 59 yards and a touchdown. Kelce highlighted the receiving game with nine catches for 91 yards and a touchdown. Rashee Rice came next with six receptions for 38 yards, Hollywood Brown had four catches for 40 yards, while Xavier Worthy caught three passes for 25 yards.
The Chiefs will look to bounce back in their next matchup, being at home. They host the Indianapolis Colts on Nov. 23 at 1 p.m. ET.
