Watch 2026 4-star QB and Texas A&M commit shine during 2025 opener
Texas A&M's future quarterback room will feature 2026 four-star commit Helaman Casuga, who is expected to sign with the Aggies in early December. On paper, current starting quarterback Marcel Reed is likely to return after the 2025 season, but knowing Casuga's skill set , redshirt freshman Miles O'Neill's future with the program is not set in stone.
Entering his senior season at Corner Canyon HS in Draper, Utah, Casuga has continued to look like one of the top prospects in the 2026 cycle during his first start of the season, completing 13/18 passes for 284 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72% of his throws.
Like most of Casuga's games, the first of his two touchdowns, and the first offensive play of the game, resulted in a 96-yard touchdown pass while backed up in his endzone, throwing a perfect pass that hit his receiver in stride. His second touchdown, which increased Corner Canyon's lead to 31-0, came off a perfectly thrown lob pass to the back of the endzone with pressure in his face.
Since his 2022 freshman season, Casuga has thrown for 6,475 yards and 60 touchdowns, as he has been one of the most productive quarterbacks on a national scale. While his arm strength was in question, Friday's performance has softened those worries, while his elite touch and accuracy have solidified his standing as Texas A&M's future starting signal caller, whenever that time comes.
According to Rivals, Casuga is currently positioned as the 20th-ranked quarterback and 5th-ranked prospect in Utah.
