Watch Texas A&M running back's latest hype video ahead of the 2025 season

Texas A&M's 2025 running back room is loaded from top to bottom. Compared to last season, this unit will be able to sustain any potential injury with the return of seniors Le'Veon Moss , Amari Daniels, EJ Smith, and most importantly, former five-star prospect and redshirt sophomore Reuben Owens, who missed all but two games last season after tearing his ACL during fall camp.

While Moss will be the focal point, Daniels and Owens will compete for the No. 2 role, while Daniels has a leg up based on his play last season, including his role as the starting running back after Moss's season-ending injury during the final five games of the season. However, Owens is by far the most versatile back on the roster and will finally be utilized in the passing game once the Aggies get through fall camp.

Under OC Collin Klein, Texas A&M's offense should be a well-oiled machine with starting quarterback Marcel Reed running things due to his elite running skill set. At the same time, his throw game should improve with the addition of new wide receivers KC Concepcion and Mario Craver, as well as Rueben Owens , who will be a valuable asset during screen plays and the quick game.

On Friday, Owens released a new video showing just how healthy and ready he is to get back in the swing of things, as his footwork, burst, and overall speed appear to be back on track after a full offseason of getting back to 100%.

Owens has also built more muscle on his frame to take the blows coming his way, which is necessary given his injury history. This is a critical season for Rueben Owens, given the future of the current running back rotation, as a solid campaign would solidify him as the 2026 starter once Moss and Daniels depart.
