Aleksej Kostic has transferred from BYU to a Big Ten school

Another former BYU player has found a new home.

Aleksej Kostic has transferred to Northwestern , he shared to social media Friday. The news was first reported by Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress.

As a freshman for the Cougars this past season, the Austrian guard appeared in 27 games, where he averaged 4.4 points and shot 36.7% from 3-point range. He also made five starts late in the season, filling in for the injured Richie Saunders .

Kostic, who scored in double figures against Big 12 foes on five occasions and had 10 outings with multiple made triples, will now join a Northwestern team that finished 15-19 last year as the 15th place-finisher in the Big Ten.

Of the eight BYU players with remaining eligibility who entered the transfer portal, Kostic is the third to land at a new school, joining Dominique Diomande (Pitt) and Xavion Staton (Oregon State).

Kennard Davis Jr., Abdullah Ahmed, KJ Perry and Tyler Mrus all remain uncommitted, while Rob Wright III withdrew from the portal to remain at BYU.

In replacing Kostic and company, the Cougars have added three transfers thus far in the offseason: Collin Chandler , Tyler Betsey and Jake Wahlin.
