The Los Angeles Angels have been without Mike Trout since mid-June after being placed on the 10-day IL with a right hamstring strain. With the All-Star Game right around the corner, Trout received some inspiring news in his latest injury update.
Reports indicate that the 34-year-old outfielder is finally coming off the IL , according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today Sports. It's said that Trout should be available for the All-Star Game, however, that decision has not been made official just yet.
" Mike Trout is officially off the IL and should be a go for the All-Star Game," reported Nightengale. "The last time he played in [the All-Star] Game was 2019."

The 16-year veteran will take the field on Wednesday against the Texas Rangers , batting second in the lineup as the designated hitter. It will be the first time Trout has played in a game since June 17 , when the Angels suffered an 8-1 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks . Trout was forced to exit that contest early after sustaining a right hamstring strain while rounding the bases.
Although it's been another tough year for the Angels, the club will be excited to have Trout back in action. He enters the game against the Rangers with 62 hits, 17 home runs, and 36 RBIs through 265 at-bats, giving him a .234 batting average and .394 OBP.
The All-Star Game isn't until Tuesday, July 14. So, Mike Trout will have five games to potentially be ready for the mid-season matchup between the American League and National League. While he could play in the contest, Trout has already stated he will not participate in this year's Home Run Derby.
