Ben DiNucci broke down Bo Nix’s injury one day before joining Broncos

When Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix suffered a break in a bone in his ankle , it set the sports world ablaze.

On CBS, then-analyst Ben DiNucci spoke about the impact of Nix's injury and the role of Jarrett Stidham as he assumes the role of starting quarterback.

"This is next man up mentality to a T," DiNucci said. "For Jarrett Stidham, there's a reason he re-signed with the Denver Broncos in the offseason; a chance to play, a chance to mean something for this team if something, God forbid, happened to Bo Nix, which unfortunately, it did tonight."

DiNucci detailed how things are likely to go in practice this week for Denver; the cadence of everything will have to change, the mindset will change, and obviously, the quarterback will have changed.

One day after his breakdown for CBS, the quarterback-turned analyst got a call from the Broncos and signed with the team's practice squad.

DiNucci officially signed with Denver's practice squad on Monday, taking over QB3 duties. DiNucci has experience with head coach Sean Payton, having been with the Broncos in 2023. DiNucci could serve as Denver's emergency third quarterback for the AFC championship on Sunday.

The Broncos are now preparing for a clash with the New England Patriots , and DiNucci's swapping out a microphone for a playbook as he looks to help Denver overcome the Nix injury.
