Bill O'Brien's Chief of Staff is done at Boston College.
Berj Najarian, Bill Belichick's longtime right-hand man in Foxborough, is parting ways with the program, a source confirmed to MassLive's Karen Guregian.
Najarian spent 24 years under Belichick with the Patriots , most with the title "director of football/head coach administration." Though often behind the scenes, an ESPN profile from 2011 provided a glimpse into Najarian's role in Foxborough.
"Point-person for day-to-day operations of the team and acts as liaison across football and non-football departments," ESPN wrote. "Najarian manages several elements of head coach Bill Belichick's off-field agenda, including football and stadium operations, player and staff communication, scheduling and personal requests. In addition, Najarian manages various special projects in coaching and player personnel."
Following Belichick's firing in January 2024, Najarian landed at Boston College as O'Brien's Chief of Staff. It'll be fascinating to see whether he will join Belichick in Chapel Hill now.
Kevin Stone of New England Football Journal was first to report the news.
