The Los Angeles Lakers have been one of the busiest teams this offseason, as the front office has made numerous acquisitions since LeBron James announced he would not be returning. However, with the dust settling in L.A., it's hard not to notice how many players on the roster are white individuals. So much so that famed NBA analyst Bill Simmons is giving the franchise a "Snowtime" nickname.

Luka Doncic , Austin Reaves , and Walker Kessler are the big three for this team. Dalton Knecht , Jake LaRavia , and Sandro Mamukelashvili are expected to play serious minutes for Los Angeles next season, while Maxi Kleber and Drew Timme round out the bottom portion of the roster.
The "Snowtime" Lakers nickname is catching on like wildfire on social media. Following the original "Showtime" Lakers nickname, people on X are seemingly loving Bill Simmons' new name for the franchise.
"Idk 'Snowtime Lakers' has a nice ring to it," said one sports fan .
This user claimed , "The suggestion of 'Snowtime Lakers' is elite."

"Snowtime Lakers is good," stated another individual .
One person said , "The Snowtime Lakers is f****** nuts lmao."
"Bill Simmons just said 'Snowtime Lakers,'" this user wrote , adding four skull emojis.
Another sports fan claimed , "The snowtime lakers is an insane nickname."
The nickname appears to be sticking. While Bill Simmons was simply poking fun at the roster acquisitions, Stephen A. Smith went on a rant claiming the Lakers have no chance of winning a championship next season.
While that may be Smith's opinion, we won't know for certain how good or bad this Lakers team might be until they start playing games. The 2026-27 campaign doesn't start until late October.
