The Buffalo Bills ’ reign as AFC East champions ended Sunday when they failed to beat the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 17.
Down 13-12 in the final seconds of the game, the Bills elected for a two-point conversion to win rather than a field goal to tie.
Allen wasn’t able to complete the pass and, with the Patriots on their way back to Foxborough after a win over the Jets , Buffalo handed the AFC East title to the Patriots for the first time since 2019.
“It doesn’t make me happy,” Bills coach Sean McDermott told reporters after the loss . “We focus on getting better. That’s the piece we can control.”
Allen added : “That sucks, not giving ourselves a chance. We’re still in the playoffs, and that’s the main thing.”
The Bills earned one of the wild card spots. It’s possible they play the Patriots in the first round , but the full schedule and seedings will be solidified after the Week 18 slate of games.
