The Milwaukee Bucks entered a new era this offseason after trading franchise cornerstone Giannis Antetokounmpo , but former Bucks guard Brandon Jennings isn't ready to count them out. Jennings took to X to share his outlook for Milwaukee heading into the 2026-27 season, predicting the Bucks will still find a way to reach the postseason despite undergoing one of the biggest roster overhauls in the NBA.
"I believe the Bucks make the playoffs this year," Jennings wrote. "None of this has anything to do with 34. I'm looking at the Bucks team and the east. Bucks gone be alright."
Milwaukee's roster looks dramatically different after the blockbuster trade completed on June 22. The Bucks sent Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis to the Miami Heat in exchange for Tyler Herro , Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr. , Kasparas Jakučionis, three first-round picks, a first-round pick swap and a second-round selection.

Although Antetokounmpo is no longer in Milwaukee, the Bucks still have several proven contributors. Myles Turner , Gary Trent Jr. and Kyle Kuzma remain on the roster, while Herro and Ware arrive after showing significant promise with the Heat. Still, Jennings' prediction comes as the Eastern Conference appears stronger than it did a season ago.
The Philadelphia 76ers added LeBron James in free agency , Kawhi Leonard is expected to join the Toronto Raptors , and teams such as the Atlanta Hawks and Washington Wizards have upgraded their rosters. Meanwhile, the Heat are expected to continue reshaping their team around Antetokounmpo after missing out on James during free agency.
Milwaukee certainly has a path to the playoffs, particularly through the Play-In Tournament, but replacing a player of Antetokounmpo's caliber will be one of the league's toughest challenges. Jennings, however, believes the Bucks have enough talent to remain in the postseason picture. But only time will tell.
