Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff is currently on the injured list due to an inflamed labrum. It was another unfortunate injury concern for Woodruff , who has been limited to nine starts this season. On Wednesday, the Brewers pitcher received another concerning update, as he is reportedly dealing with a new injury.
" Brandon Woodruff returned to Milwaukee for a MRI and imaging revealed a new injury to the anterior shoulder capsule. His surgeon Dr. Keith Meister will provide a second opinion," Sophia Minnaert reported.
Injuries have unfortunately limited Woodruff over the years. He has not made more than 12 starts in a season since 2022, when he pitched in 27 games.

In 2025, Woodruff appeared in exactly 12 contests. As mentioned, he has made nine starts so far this year. The right-hander has pitched to a 2.98 ERA across 45.1 innings of work on the mound in 2026. He has made a significant impact while on the mound to say the least.
Updates on Woodruff's injury status will continue to be monitored and provided as they are made available.
Overall, Milwaukee holds the second best record in all of MLB at the moment, as the ball club is 58-33. The Brewers are right behind the 60-33 Los Angeles Dodgers . Milwaukee also holds a strong seven-game lead in the National League Central standings.
The Brewers feature a talented roster. They will likely look to make a trade or two before the upcoming deadline, though. Milwaukee may be especially aggressive when it comes to adding starting pitching given Brandon Woodruff's injury absence.
