With Milwaukee Brewers star Jacob Misiorowski throwing fire in every start this season, which has led to an MLB All-Star nod, though his status for the game itself is up in the air. While the Brewers pitcher in Misiorowski might not pitch in the All-Star Game , there could be more drama with the Philadelphia Phillies , like there was last season.
Bob Nightengale of USA Today would write that Phillies pitcher is most likely starting the All-Star game on the National League side, with the likely outcome of Misiorowski not being able to pitch due to the schedule of games. While some members of Philadelphia were angry that Misiorowski was chosen in the All-Star Game last season after five starts and Sanchez didn't make it, it will likely be different this year.
"I think he deserves it," Misiorowski said on Sanchez starting. "Especially with the game being in Philadelphia. It'd be cool for him to start in front of his home fans."
"I think the Phillies were more mad at MLB than me last year," Misiorowski continued. "But now, at least I can say, 'See, there wasn't a mistake.'"
Brewers ' Jacob Misiorowski wants to pitch in All-Star Game
There definitely wasn't a mistake, as Misiorowski implied, as this season has been sensational, leading MLB with a 1.47 ERA and 156 strikeouts, to go along with a 9-4 record. Not to mention that Philadelphia has seen first-hand how impressive Misiorowski is, as he threw out a whopping 15 batters, while allowing one hit against them on June 12.
With Misiorowski's fiery play style, plus having the chance to make two starts before the All-Star break, the hope is that rain could postpone these games for him to make an appearance.
"I would love to pitch in the game," Misiorowski says. "Especially if I somehow got the start. But, you know, do I think that's the best for the team? No. But selfishly, sure, I want to throw."
It remains to be seen what happens with Misiorowski and the All-Star Game.
