The Milwaukee Brewers took home a 5-1 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday, advancing to a 31-20 record. It was another dominant display from Jacob Misiorowski , as his outing on the mound was elite. His performance not only put him in the lead for most strikeouts in a season so far, but he's also the first pitcher to reach 100 Ks this season.
After totaling 12 strikeouts while allowing just two hits, a walk, and an earned run through 7.0 innings, the 24-year-old right-hander reached the 100 strikeout mark in the 2026 campaign. His 12 strikeouts on Monday tied his career high in a single game. He accomplished the feat in just 11 starts. The last pitcher to reach 100 strikeouts in 11 starts was Atlanta Braves ' star Spencer Strider in 2023.
Jacob Misiorowski is putting up Cy Young Award numbers in just his second season in MLB. He owns an ERA below 2.00 and a WHIP below 0.900, all while reaching the century mark in strikeouts. Misiorowski also earned his fifth win of the campaign.
The former second-round pick of the 2022 MLB Draft has been electric for the Brewers so far this season. After a roller-coaster of a rookie year in 2025, Misiorowski appears to be settling in as an ace in Milwaukee. With the club in first place of the NL Central with a 2.5-game lead over the Cardinals, Misiorowski is putting himself amongst the best pitchers in MLB playing for playoff-contending teams.
After playing on Monday, Jacob Misiorowski is projected to start again on May 31 against the Houston Astros . He'll have a chance to continue his strong year against an Astros team that is largely struggling.
