After adding UFL wide receiver Hakeem Butler , the Denver Broncos waived/injured fellow receiver Michael Woods, according to a report from KUSA-TV's Mike Klis .
Before the Broncos :Woods (6-1, 204 pounds) came into the NFL as a sixth-round pick (202nd overall) with the Cleveland Browns in the 2022 NFL draft. Woods played in 10 games as a rookie, catching five passes for 45 yards. In 2023, Woods missed the entirety of the season with a ruptured Achilles and a six-game suspension handed down by the league for violating its personal conduct policy. Woods returned to the field in 2024, playing in five games (two starts), catching seven passes for 65 yards. The injury bug hit Woods again in 2025, when he suffered a hand injury that landed him on injured reserve, leading to an injury settlement from the Browns , before spending time on the Green Bay Packers ' practice squad late in the year.
Broncos tenure:Woods tried out for Denver in September of 2025 , but did not immediately sign with the Broncos . Woods must've made a good impression, because he was invited back to participate as a veteran tryout during May's rookie minicamp. He was signed by Denver after that tryout.
The Broncos have now swapped Woods for Butler on the 91-man offseason roster.
