Broncos host two running backs, including a potential Day 2 target

Even after re-signing starting running back J.K. Dobbins, the Denver Broncos are still seeking more depth at running back, and they could find it in the 2026 NFL draft next month.

Denver has scheduled a pre-draft visit with Washington running back Jonah Coleman , according to Arye Pulli of Sports Illustrated . Coleman (5-8, 220 pounds) did not run at the NFL combine or at his pro day, but he's an excellent pass blocker and protects the football , which could catch the Broncos' attention.

The 22-year-old running back rushed for 1,811 yards and 25 touchdowns while adding 531 receiving yards and two scores as a receiver out of the backfield in two seasons (25 games) with the Huskies . Before that, he spent the first two years of his college career at Arizona .

NFL mock drafts have Coleman projected as a third-round prospect . Denver does not currently hold a third-round pick, but the team has a late second-round selection and two picks early in the fourth round.

Elsewhere on the running back front, the Broncos are also set to host Indiana's Kaelon Black, according to KPRC-TV's Aaron Wilson . Black (5-9, 208 pounds) rushed for 1,040 yards and 10 touchdowns in 16 games with the national champions last season. He spent the final two years of his college career with the Hoosiers following two seasons at James Madison. Black is considered a late-round prospect.

After the Jaylen Waddle trade , the Broncos  hold seven picks  in the 2026 NFL draft, which will be held in Pittsburgh from April 23-25.
