The legal tampering period for free agency is underway, and the Cleveland Browns have lost one of their top defensive players from last season. Adam Schefter reports that the linebacker Devin Bush is expected to sign a 3-year, $30 million deal with the Chicago Bears that includes $21 million in guarantees when free agency officially begins on Wednesday.
This is a move that hurts. Bush was a former top 10 pick who was considered a bust until he made his way to Cleveland and worked with Jason Tarver. He had a great season last year playing alongside Defensive Rookie of the Year Carson Schwesinger , and keeping that duo together should have been a priority.
Now the Browns will need to look to free agency or the draft to replace Bush, and luckily for them, the linebacker class is pretty good. Bush did a great job of resurrecting his career and getting the payday he deserved from the Bears.
