The MLB All-Star Game came and went, ending in a 4-0 victory for the American League over the National League. While it was a fun contest for the AL, the NL appeared to be on the struggle bus throughout the contest. Even St. Louis Cardinals star Jordan Walker , after winning the Home Run Derby , didn't do much in the All-Star Game.
Walker, who is 24 years old, finished the All-Star Game with just one at-bat. That was largely due to the fact that he was an All-Star reserve for the NL's outfield. The four-year veteran failed to record a hit or generate a walk in his one attempt.
That might not be the most impressive outing in his first career All-Star appearance, but Walker walked out of the break a winner in his own right. The Cardinals star somehow managed to win the Home Run Derby after hitting four straight home runs in his final swing attempts to surpass Philadelphia Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber , winning the event 12 home runs to 11 in the final head-to-head round.

Winning the Home Run Derby earned Jordan Walker a cool $1 million cash prize . Considering he is playing the 2026 campaign on a one-year, $799,400 rookie deal, that extra $1 million is huge for the former first-round pick.
Additionally, Walker's output for the Cardinals this season is putting him on pace for a big payday at some point down the road. His first three seasons in MLB were lackluster, to say the least. Especially considering he was deemed an elite prospect before being promoted to the majors in 2023.
That potential is finally coming through in 2026. While he didn't have a chance to showcase his skills in the All-Star Game, Jordan Walker this season has recorded 105 hits and 22 home runs while leading all of MLB with 74 RBIs through 357 at-bats, giving him a .294 batting average and .354 OBP, which are on pace for career bests.
