“The #Braves today selected RHP Carlos Carrasco to the major league roster after optioning RHP Anthony Molina to Triple-A Gwinnett following last night’s game,” the Braves shared on X, formerly Twitter.

Carrasco was initially traded to the Braves during the 2025 season. He ended up signing a deal with Atlanta during the offseason.

The 39-year-old has pitched in only one inning in MLB this season. He did not surrender a run in the outing. Carrasco has pitched well at Triple-A across four starts, turning in a 1.71 ERA during that span. He has struck out 18 hitters in his 21 innings of work on the mound.

The Braves’ pitching staff has been hit hard by the injury bug in 2026, so having Carrasco on the roster for depth is an understandable move without question. The veteran pitcher is still capable of making an impact at the big league level.

On Friday, the Braves began a series against the Rockies in Colorado . Atlanta ultimately earned an 8-6 victory to begin the three-game series. The Braves are currently on a nine-game road trip, with Saturday’s contest in Colorado representing the second matchup of the road trip.

At 23-10 overall, the Braves hold a 7.5 game lead in the National League East standings. Atlanta will look to further increase its division lead with another victory on Saturday. First pitch for the Braves and Rockies clash in Colorado is scheduled for 8:10 PM EST.
