OXFORD — Ole Miss football wide receiver Cayden Lee is set to make a last-minute move.
Lee is entering the transfer portal, per a report from CBS Sports on Jan. 17.
The transfer portal officially closed Jan. 16, but movement can happen after the deadline to enter due to processing delays. Players who are in the portal can find a new team or return to their school.
Lee has played in 38 games for the Rebels over the past three seasons. He is going into his senior year and final season of eligibility. He has been one of Ole Miss ' primary receivers over the past three seasons, but he is coming off an underwhelming statistical year.
Lee had 44 catches for 635 yards and three touchdowns in 2025.
It was a decrease from what Lee did as a sophomore with quarterback Jaxson Dart . Lee had 57 catches for 874 yards and two touchdowns in 2024.
The 2025 season was chaotic for the Rebels' offense. Preseason starter Austin Simmons , who is close friends with Lee, was injured and lost his starting job to Trinidad Chambliss . Simmons transferred to Missouri .
Lee is the second Ole Miss wide receiver to enter the transfer portal, joining Winston Watkins , who went to LSU . The Rebels are also expected to lose wideouts De'Zhaun Stribling and Trey Wallace to the NFL draft.
Ole Miss has added Syracuse wide receivers Darrell Gill and Johntay Cook in the transfer portal, along with Kentucky wide receiver Cameron Miller and Virginia Tech wide receiver Isaiah Spencer

Lee posted a lengthy statement on social media after the news broke on Jan. 17.
"With deep gratitude and a heavy heart, I have made the difficult decision to enter the college football transfer portal.
