Chargers' Jim Harbaugh had no problem with Justin Herbert missing OTA's to support Madison Beer appeared first on ClutchPoints . Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here .
The Los Angeles Chargers have something special between their head coach and star quarterback. This type of chemistry is needed when you are trying to build a winning culture. Over the last two years, the Chargers have quickly done that, but are in need of some postseason success to really get over the hump.
Since OTAs began a few weeks back, star QB Justin Herbert had been absent until Wednesday. Jim Harbaugh has done nothing but support Justin Herbert since he became his head coach. Harbaugh even had a funny response to Herbert asking to miss some time to go support his girlfriend and pop star Madison Beer.
"I was happy he went to support Madison [Beer] on her music tour. Madison supports him at the football games. He told me he wasn't gonna be here for those two weeks and my first reaction was, 'do you need a ride to the airport?'"
"He's just been somebody that is just here all the time. There's times I've wanted to shoo him out of the building. He's at every voluntary, every non-voluntary workout. Same guy that broke his hand, and he was here the next day practicing. The next game, stiff-arming guys. Yeah, I was happy. Good balance."
Harbaugh has been on record saying that he wants to get Herbert to the Hall of Fame. There may not be a better mentor for Herbert to succeed in that goal. Harbaugh has a ton of history and success in the NFL, and in the NCAA, it is only a matter of time until Harbaugh lifts a Lombardi trophy, and he wants nothing more than for Herbert to share the glory with him.
On Tuesday, the Bolts locked up Derwin James for a three-year contract extension.
