Chris Bosh Health Update Emerges After NBA Legend's Concerning News

NBA legend Chris Bosh uploaded a video on social media Wednesday afternoon, explaining a recent health incident that left him "on the ground" and "covered in his own blood." He also highlighted the bruising that was noticeable beneath his eyes.

"It was crazy. It was fast. It was instant. There was no warning," Bosh explained. While he has expressed his desire for the details of both his health and the cause of the episode to remain private, the latest report from the Miami Herald's Barry Jackson answers at least some of the questions that fans may have after initially seeing the video.

Thanks to the work of Jackson, we now know that Bosh's incident was "something that indeed had a correlation to past issues." The veteran sports reporter also confirmed with "a close NBA associate" of Bosh that the former Miami big man is "doing fine."

Bosh was forced into a premature retirement from the NBA after his various attempts at a return were dismissed due to persistent blood-clotting issues. From 2015 to 2016, Bosh was found to have a clot in one of his lungs, and later, one in his leg as well.

In the summer of 2017, the NBA officially deemed his blood-clotting issues as a career-ending illness, but the 11-time All-Star would continue to push for a return until February 2019. Given the amount of concerns surrounding his condition, as well as his need to take blood thinners, it was ultimately decided that it was in the best interest of everyone, including Bosh, that he no longer play.

A fan favorite due to his productivity with the Toronto Raptors and his role in the Miami Heat 's "Big Three," few are as beloved by the basketball community as Bosh. That is exemplified by the overwhelming support the 41-year-old has received since the announcement.
