Dakorien Moore focused on health, utilizing Oregon’s training room

Today's athletes have the best facilities possible, particularly at a place like Oregon , which has one of the best facilities in the nation.

But even then, they have to have the discipline to actually use those facilities and for some, it's a bit more difficult and there's a learning curve that needs to develop.

For Oregon Ducks receiver Dakorien Moore , it was definitely something he needed to learn, especially after suffering a leg injury in the middle of last season. That injury accelerated Moore's need to use those state-of-the-art facilities, and now he appreciates them more than he ever has.

And more importantly, it's working at getting him healthy and on the field.

“I’ll say I'm to 100 percent or at least I feel like I'm 100 percent. Just mainly, stay in the training room last year," Moore said. "Being that I came from high school, I wasn't really in the training room a lot. Growing up, you hear a lot about getting in the training room, go do this, that, and the third, but you know, you're young, you don't really feel like you've got to get in there. You go back the next day, and you feel good."

Moore learned that developing that mental acuity to take advantage of everything Oregon has to offer can take a toll mentally, but physically also, as the body heals. It's not a fun experience all the time.

"Coming up here, being able to work every single day, it's definitely a toll on your body," he said. "So, being that I got injured last year, definitely like coming into my experience, to getting to actually stay in the training room.”

Staying in the training room will eventually pay off for Moore, as it will go a long way towards the sophomore wide receiver staying on the field and scoring touchdowns for the Ducks . He did play in 11 games, but had just 34 catches for 497 yards and three scores. Everyone at Oregon knows Moore is capable of so much more from the receiver spot.

Watching Moore run into the end zone going for six is something everyone in Eugene wants to see over and over again.
