As a true 30/30 threat, Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll excels at a number of different skills on the diamond. But when it comes to hitting triples , he is one of, if not the best in the league.
On Sunday, Carroll laced yet another three-bagger against the Colorado Rockies , the 50th of his career. He became the second-fastest player (537 games) in MLB history behind just the legendary Loug Gehrig (461) to reach 80 home runs and 50 triples, via Sarah Lang of MLB.com.
Entering Sunday's games, Carroll led the league with six triples. It is a position he is familiar in, as the outfielder led MLB in triples during the 2025 (17) and 2024 (14) seasons.
When it comes to power, Carroll had 32 and 22 home runs in those seasons respectively. He also stole 31 bases in 2025 with another 22 a year prior. A 20/20 player the last three seasons and 30/30 in 2025, the outfielder has become a true versatile threat for the Diamondbacks.
Before Sunday's Rockies matchup, Carroll was hitting .285 with seven home runs, 26 RBIs and six stolen bases alongside his six triples. He ranks second on the team in stolen bases, third in RBIs and fourth in home runs.
With a win on Sunday, the Diamondbacks will have taken three out of their four games against the Rockies. Arizona has been on a hot streak as of late, winning six of their last seven games. Now, 27-24, they sit five games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West.
As the Diamondbacks try to go on a run, they'll be relying on Carroll to continue being a key source of production. Arizona is at least confident they'll have a runner on third more often than not.
