- Did the KC Chiefs Just Reveal Potential Round 1 Target in 2026 NFL Draft?
The Kansas City Chiefs have been active this offseason, and they're not taking their foot off the gas anytime soon. From pulling off moves for Kenneth Walker III and Justin Fields to locking in Travis Kelce for another three-year ride , Kansas City's front office has been wheeling and dealing like a team chasing another Lombardi.
But now? It's draft season, and things are heating up even more. With Top 30 visits stacking up and the war room in full grind mode, the Chiefs might've already tipped their hand on a potential 2026 pick. Or is this another classic smokescreen? Let's break it down.

For the first time since 2013, when it bagged Eric Fisher and Travis Kelce, Kansas City's original first-round pick is inside the top 10. Yes, the QB carousel is already spun. With Heisman winner Fernando Mendoza trending toward the Las Vegas Raiders , the Chiefs can sit back and attack the board like it's an all-you-can-eat "best player available" buffet.
They might've already started circling names. Kansas City took to X to hype up offensive tackle Blake Miller , telling fans to "keep an eye out" for the Clemson OT in this year's draft. Translation? The front office is doing its homework—and maybe tipping its hand just a little.

Miller is trending as a top-20 pick and could be the first Clemson Tigers football player off the board, in what's shaping up to be a trench-heavy Day 1. Sure, he logged 97% of his reps at right tackle, but a four-year starter with high football IQ and positional versatility? That's plug-and-play value in any system.
And make no mistake, the Chiefs need it.
What goes up must come down, and Kansas City felt that crash hard in 2025. After a decade-long dynasty run—including a 10-year playoff streak and flirting with a fourth straight Super Bowl trip—the wheels didn't just wobble… they flew off. The season unraveled even before Patrick Mahomes went down in Week 15.
The numbers tell the story: eight losses in their last nine games, matching their combined losses from 2023 and 2024. Eleven Ls on the board? That's something Kansas City fans hadn't seen since before the Andy Reid era even began.

While it is still a question whether Miller will land in Arrowhead. Kansas City has more than just two first-round picks to find talent within this year's draft .
