While the Los Angeles Dodgers are currently dealing with other injuries on the team, the ball club has been missing one of its standout relievers, Jack Dreyer. As fans have been awaiting an injury update to the Dodgers reliever in Dreyer, Sunday is the day for it, as the team had an encouraging announcement.

According to the team, Los Angeles has taken Dreyer off the injured list (IL), as he will return to the team, with pitcher Paul Gervase being optioned to the minor leagues.
"The Dodgers activated LHP Jack Dreyer from the injured list and optioned RHP Paul Gervase," the team announced on X, formerly Twitter.
It looks as if Dreyer made good time on his injury recovery, as he had been dealing with a shoulder injury, where the pitcher did not even require a rehab assignment as part of the process. Los Angeles was described as "hopeful" by Katie Woo of The Athletic, with Dreyer active ahead of Sunday's series finale against the Philadelphia Phillies.
"Dodgers were hopeful Jack Dreyer would miss the minimum and wouldn't need a rehab assignment. He's active today, Paul Gervase optioned. Also: Ryan Ward gets his first career start in LF today," Woo wrote on X.

Dodgers' Jack Dreyer was dealing with inflammation in his shoulder
In terms of what was going on with Dreyer and his shoulder, it was described at the time of the injury by Dodgers manager Dave Roberts as "some inflammation." Dreyer would make his last appearance on May 15, as he had recorded a 2.08 ERA with 24 strikeouts and 21.2 innings pitched.
"He was warming up [May 16] and felt something in his shoulder, some soreness. So we just wanted to be proactive," Roberts said, via Dodger Blue. "Had a scan today, there was nothing relevant. Just some inflammation, which we had expected. But we want to be careful with him, so with that, put him on the IL and hope he gets back once the stint is up."
At any rate, Los Angeles is looking for Dreyer to provide the same output as he did before the shoulder injury, starting Sunday.
