The 2025 NFL season has been full of surprises, but few have been as wholesome as the rising stardom of New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye and his wife, Ann Michael Maye .
The Patriots (11-2) are tied for the best record in the AFC entering Sunday's game against divisional rival Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills (9-4). Maye has become a legitimate MVP candidate in his second professional season. Through 13 games, he has passed for 3,412 yards, 23 touchdowns and six interceptions.

Ann Michael, his high school sweetheart, has become a social media sensation through her viral "Bakemas" videos on TikTok during New England 's remarkable run. She earned the title "Bake Maye" from fans — and that is not the only nickname to emerge from the comments section.

"It's been awesome," Maye said on New England sports radio show " WEEI Afternoons " on Monday. "[She's] in her little journey doing 'Bakemas' right now. I get to do the good part of trying all her stuff she bakes. I try to bring some leftovers into the building."

Ann Michael has surpassed 200,000 followers on TikTok after setting out to bake something new every day of December until Christmas. Her first "Bakemas" video on Dec. 1 has 1.6 million views and more than 2,200 comments.
In addition to Ann Michael's holiday baking skills, the videos have drawn attention because of the uplifting comments left by fans, breaking the often toxic mold of social media behavior that can follow the wives and girlfriends of NFL players.

The nickname "Bake Maye" got more than 4,000 likes when it was suggested in a comment on the sixth day of "Bakemas."
Fans have also started calling Ann Michael the "queen" and "first lady" of New England, titles often given to wives of NFL quarterbacks, such as Patrick Mahomes ' wife, Brittany Mahomes , and Allen's wife, Hailee Steinfeld .
Others gave Maye's wife a similar nickname to the one they gave the unassuming Patriots quarterback. Like Drake " Drake Maye " Maye, one popular comment on Saturday's video dubbed his wife Ann Michael "Ann Michael Maye" Maye.

Maye has drawn a lot of comparisons in the comments to a former first lady of the Patriots, Tom Brady 's ex-wife Gisele Bundchen. One popular response from the first day of "Bakemas" joked that the Brazilian supermodel "never assorted the m&ms by the patriots colors for us."
With his beloved wife and an abundance of baked goods by his side, Maye will take the field to face the Bills at 1 p.m. ET Sunday on CBS.
