As the weeks go on for the Minnesota Vikings they seem intent to add names onto their injury report. While a substantial amount of players haven’t missed games , early-week practices have often had a boatload of talent on the sidelines .

After shutting out a terrible Washington Commanders team last weekend, the Vikings turn their attention to the Dallas Cowboys. Kevin O’Connell is hoping his team can build on the positive momentum. They’ll need to get healthier as the week goes on though.

Heading into the Week 15 for a contest against Dallas, the first injury report of the week features a whopping 15 names. Thankfully only two of those names actually failed to participate.

Six players were listed as limited simply for rest related reasons. Christian Darrisaw, who played on Sunday, did not participate in practice Wednesday. He has been working his way back to full health from the knee injury he suffered last season.

T.J. Hockenson is dealing with a shin issue. His inclusion on the injury report is new, and he has yet to miss a game this season. It’s possible that the Minnesota Vikings still cut the veteran tight end as the production has not been as hoped. He has just 370 yards and three touchdowns this year. In 2024, despite playing only 10 games, he tallied 455 yards.

Last week Ty Chandler had his 21-day practice window opened after being injured since Week 1. He was unable to go, but with a full practice to start the week, he appears on track. It’s also very positive that there is no injury designation for starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy.

Minnesota faces playoff elimination this weekend with a loss. At 5-8 , they face near incredible odds regardless. Building momentum for 2026 should be the goal.
