Vereen, who was hired last year by Nick Caserio and the Houston Texans , had a seat in the press box. Officially, his title his “Player Personnel Assistant,” but he does a number of jobs in the front office.
Vereen hadn’t been back to Gillette since Tom Brady ’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony in June of 2024. He walked around the stadium before settling in the press box, saying his tour was “very nostalgic.”
Vereen was part of the Patriots 2014 Super Bowl winning team that beat the Seattle Seahawks .
He loved seeing how the Patriots had turned back into contenders under Mike Vrabel.
Houston’s defense makes the Texans a tough playoff opponent for anyone. There was a small chance the Patriots would draw them in the wild card round.
Along with Vereen, representatives from Pittsburgh , Denver , the LA Chargers , Jacksonville , Buffalo and Baltimore were on hand to check out Drake Maye & Co take on the Dolphins.
