The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms with former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mitch Trubisky on a one-year deal.
Trubisky, who was a former number two overall pick, will now be the backup to second year, and former first overall pick Cam Ward . Trubisky will be reuniting with former offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, of whom he spent time with in Buffalo during the 2021 season.
Trubisky started his career with the Chicago Bears before ultimately walking in free agency where he landed with the Bills for a year as Josh Allen 's backup. After a year with Brian Daboll, Trubisky was thought to have grown and was given a second opportunity to be a starter for the Steelers.

During his two-year stint with Pittsburgh, Trubisky compiled a 2-5 record and threw for 1,884 yards, eight touchdowns, and ten interceptions. Trubisky, entering his 10th NFL season, will now join his third team after going back to the Buffalo Bills the past 2 seasons to back up Josh Allen.
Across his NFL career, Trubisky has appeared in more than 70 games and made over 50 starts. He has thrown for over 13,000 passing yards with 78 touchdowns and 48 interceptions, while adding more than 1,000 rushing yards and several rushing scores with his mobility. As a starter, he holds a career record of 31–26, highlighted by his playoff appearance with Chicago.
In Tennessee , Trubisky is expected to serve as the veteran backup to second year quarterback Cam Ward. His experience as both a starter and backup could make him a valuable mentor as Ward begins his NFL career, giving the Titans a steady presence behind their young quarterback while also providing a reliable option if the team needs him to step in during the season.
