It has been a disaster of a season for the San Francisco Giants . It appears that the team is looking to sell, ahead of the Major League Baseball trade deadline. A new report says the Giants are adding to a list of players they are willing to trade.
"Multiple sources told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand that San Francisco is open to offers for first baseman Rafael Devers , shortstop Willy Adames and third baseman Matt Chapman , though the club has no plans to move ace Logan Webb or any of its young players. The club has not confirmed the news," MLB.com reported.
This season San Francisco is fourth in the National League West. Heading into Tuesday, the team is just 29-43 on the campaign.
"The Giants still have time to get back in the race, but they are facing a steep climb and haven't shown enough to suggest they are close to making a run. San Francisco entered Tuesday with the second-worst record (29-43) in the National League behind the Rockies," the outlet added.
San Francisco took a risk before the 2026 season by hiring Tony Vitello to be the team's manager. Vitello had never been a MLB manager. He instead worked for years managing in college baseball, and won a national championship with Tennessee.
Vitello has not worked out so far in the Bay. Rumors swirl that Vitello may leave the Giants after the season to go back to the college ranks. Time will tell if that actually happens.
San Francisco plays the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday. The Giants have a 5-5 record in their last 10 contests. The MLB trade deadline is on August 3.
