The report discussed left-handed pitcher Sam Hentges and right-handed pitcher Joel Peguero . Hentges has been out since March 25 while recovering from left shoulder and right knee surgery. Meanwhile, Peguiero has been out since March 25 with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain.

Hentges tossed three scoreless innings in his first three rehab appearances across Triple-A Sacramento. Likewise, Peguiero allowed four earned runs over his first five rehab outings with Triple-A Sacramento. The plan is for him to make another appearance for Sacramento. Currently, both pitchers expect to return at some point in the first half of the season.

The Giants would really use their return, as the bullpen currently ranks 19th in team ERA. Despite winning the series against Los Angeles , the team is 11-14 and trails the final wild-card spot by 3.5 games. The bad start for the Giants has seen many question whether they can truly contend.
