The Vegas Golden Knights on Sunday signed goaltender Carl Lindbom to a three-year contract extension through the 2028-29 season. The deal carries an average annual value of $900,000, with the first season structured as a two-way contract before converting to a one-way deal for the final two years.
Lindbom, 23, earned the extension after an outstanding 2025-26 campaign, spending most of the season with the AHL's Henderson Silver Knights. He compiled a 24-5-8 record in 37 appearances while posting a 2.16 goals-against average, a .926 save percentage and three shutouts. His 24 win ranked fifth in the AHL, while his .926 save percentage and 2.16 GAA placed third and fourth in the league, respectively.
The Swedish netminder finished the regular season on an impressive run, going 18-0-2 over his final 20 appearances with a .923 save percentage and a 2.24 GAA. His performance helped Henderson finish third in the Pacific Division and earned him AHL Second All-Star Team honors along with a selection to the Pacific Division roster for the 2026 AHL All-Star Game.
Lindbom also contributed during the Calder Cup Playoffs, posting a 3-3 record in six starts with a 2.56 GAA and .913 save percentage as Henderson advanced to the Pacific Division Finals before falling to the Colorado Eagles.
The Stockholm native made his NHL debut with Vegas on Oct. 26, 2025, against the Tampa Bay Lightning . He appeared in eight NHL games during his rookie season, finishing 2-4-2 with a 3.00 goals-against average and a .873 save percentage. After dropping his first six NHL starts, Lindbom earned his first career victory against the San Jose Sharks on Nov. 29 and later recorded another win over San Jose in his final appearance on Jan. 21.
Across two seasons with Henderson, Lindbom owns a 42-30-11 record with a 2.41 goals-against average, a .919 save percentage and six shutouts. The Golden Knights originally selected him in the seventh round of the 2021 NHL Draft with the 222nd overall pick.
Internationally, Lindbom represented Sweden and captured bronze medals at both the 2021 IIHF U18 World Championship and the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship.
The extension comes as Vegas continues evaluating its long-term goaltending outlook. Adin Hill and Carter Hart remain under contract through next season, while Lindbom's new agreement positions one of the Golden Knights' top goaltending prospects to continue pushing for a permanent NHL role in the years ahead.
