The Pittsburgh Steelers weren't able to get a look at Jordyn Tyson at the NFL Scouting Combine. According to The Athletic's Dane Brugler, Mike McCarthy's team won't be able to see the Arizona State receiver perform at his pro day, either.
"Jordyn Tyson's a little bit more difficult (to project) because of the durability factor, all the injuries he's been working through," Brugler said on "The Athletic Football Show." "And even into this draft process. It was a hamstring that bothered him throughout the year, and then it's kinda spiked a little bit during training. He wasn't able to work out at the combine, he's not gonna work out at the pro day.
"There's a hope he can maybe run some routes before the draft, but we'll find out about that as we get closer. And so he's a guy that has missed a lot of time over his four years in college, and it's hard to understand how much to factor that in."
Tyson dealt with a major knee injury in 2022, tearing his ACL, MCL and PCL while at Colorado. He missed most of his first season with the Sun Devils after transferring while recovering from the same issue. Along with the hamstring injury, which he suffered last season, he had a collarbone injury the campaign before that.
"Based just on the tape, to me, I see a guy like Stefon Diggs , who can create his own separation, he can win at the catch point," Brugler said. "There's just a lot to like about him."
NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah recently tabbed Tyson as the No. 21 overall player on his 2026 NFL Draft big board. The Steelers have the No. 21 overall pick in the order.
