Pittsburgh Steelers ' third-round pick Gennings Dunker made headlines at the NFL Combine for his flowing red-haired mullet and thick mustache. Dunker is also widely known for his love of Culver's, a Midwestern fast-food chain.
To say the least, the 6-foot-5, 319-pounder can throw down some food. He has an insane 10,000-calorie diet on game days.
On the night before game day at 5:30 p.m., he reportedly has two-to-three servings of pasta, meat sauce, bread rolls, steak, and two servings of fruit. At 8:30 p.m., he follows up by consuming three hamburgers, three bags of Baked Lay's, a hydration mix, and hot chocolate.
On the morning of game day at 7:15 a.m., Dunker eats four servings of toast, two bowls of Wheaties, some pancakes, and two chicken breasts. Two hours later, he scarfs down four servings of toast and a chicken breast. At 10:15 a.m., he'll have a Maurten Gel, Honey Stinger energy waffle and chews, and a hydration mix.
Dunker isn't done. During the game and at halftime, he consumes Honey Stinger energy waffle and chews and Maurten Gel, along with some water and Powerade.
To wrap it all up, Dunker finishes with a post-game meal at his beloved Culver's, featuring a Double Bacon Cheeseburger, family-sized cheese curds or onion rings, along with three sides of ranch.
Dunker weighed in the mid 340s at one point at Iowa, but he cut down to under 329. Dunker weighed 319 at the NFL Combine.
"I was pretty heavy…I was in the mid-340s at one point, but I have to weigh under 329," Dunker told KCRG-TV9 in an interview in 2023 . "I don't want to end up on the 'fat bike' to lose calories, I would rather die than miss weight. Whatever it takes."
Dunker said he'll probably consume 8,000 or 9,000 calories the day before a game, and then around 10,000 the day of a game.
"I'll probably eat two or three thousand during the game," he said. "I'll come off from a drive, and I'll eat a pack of gummies, which I think are about 160 calories or so. Then I'll drink a Body Armor, which is like 140, so about 300. And then I'll eat before the game, at halftime, and I'll keep eating every series."
