We know that for the Jaguars to win games, their star players like Trevor Lawrence , Brenton Strange , Parker Washington , and others must consistently play at high levels.

But the X-factor, who may not be of the same caliber as the players mentioned, can still have a major impact on the outcome, depending on how they play.
Jacksonville Jaguars ' 2026 X-factors on offense
TE Nate Boerkircher:The Jacksonville Jaguars ' decision to draft Nate Boerkircher was heavily criticized after the NFL Draft, but his performance in offseason programs is slowly changing the narrative. Additionally, clips from the second episode of " The Hunt " showed exactly what James Gladstone, Liam Coen, Grant Udinski, and Tony Boselli saw in Boerkircher: someone who could fundamentally change the Jacksonville offense.
It's expected that Boerkircher can contribute to both the run and passing game, which gives the offense much more versatility. It frees up Brenton Strange in particular and makes the offense less predictable to opposing defenses with the many hats he can wear. He was the strongest blocking tight end in this year's draft, and that skill will allow Coen to use 12 and 13 personnel, which will then constantly keep defenses guessing. There's a reason he's already being named an instant impact candidate for 2026. - Casandra Chesser

RG Patrick Mekari :In the run game, the Jaguars have to improve this season. That begins with the play of the offensive line unit, particularly Patrick Mekari at right guard.
Mekari, who the Jaguars signed in free agency in 2025, dealt with injuries of his own, which forced him to miss three games. On the field, his play was up and down. He ranked 63rd out of 83 eligible guards in run-blocking grade. In pass protection, he gave up 34 pressures -- the 12th-most among guards -- and two sacks, ranking tied for 58th in pass-blocking efficiency. - Paul Bretl
