Jets HC Aaron Glenn makes blatantly obvious ‘improvement’ claim at OTAs appeared first on ClutchPoints . Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here .
OTAs are underway as the New York Jets get an early look at the roster ahead of the 2026-27 season. During his early evaluation of the team, head coach Aaron Glenn made a rather obvious claim to media members after Thursday morning’s practice.
Glenn, who is entering his second year as the Jets’ head coach, stated he wants to see improvement each day at OTAs. He acknowledged the club is a far way from potentially being successful, but at the very least wants to see the players get better with each passing day.
“We have a ways to go, I know that,” said Glenn. “But I just want to see improvement every day. That’s basically it. If we’re doing that, we’re on the right track.”
Improvement is something all 32 teams in the NFL want to see. However, it might be more important for a Jets franchise that hasn’t reached the playoffs in 16 years. The 2025-26 campaign was dreadful, to say the least, and hopefully, there is nowhere to go but up for New York.
But that might just be optimistic thinking. Although the front office managed to find a plethora of talent in free agency and the NFL Draft, the club is still without a franchise quarterback. That could certainly derail things for a team that went 3-14 last season.
However, there are some things to be optimistic about for the next campaign. The Jets did acquire some exciting young talent, including three first-round rookies in linebacker David Bailey, tight end Kenyon Sadiq, and wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. The team also added cornerback D’Angelo Ponds in the second round to help improve the secondary.
We’ll see how things play out for the Jets next season, though. Improvement is something the club desperately needs.
