The post Here's what Mavericks' Anthony Davis said about the swirling trade rumors appeared first on ClutchPoints .
Things have not gone well in Central Texas, as the Dallas Mavericks are in disarray and currently 5-14, with numerous players sidelined by injuries. Now, Davis has discussed the Mavericks trade rumors and emphasized his job, according to Mavs ' beat writer Mike Curtis.
Davis has been dealing with a calf injury and has missed the past 14 games. This is a team that is already without Derrick Lively II for a few weeks, and the trade rumors surrounding Davis add fuel to a fire that has been an awful start for the Mavs. When Davis has been on the court, he has been productive for the team, averaging 20.8 points and 10.2 rebounds per game while shooting 52 percent from the field. Last season, after coming to the Mavs from the Lakers , he averaged 20 points and 10.1 rebounds per contest over nine regular-season games.

This is not the first time Davis has been in trade rumors. Ironically, he has only played for three teams over his vast career since the New Orleans Pelicans drafted him in 2013. But the trade to the Mavericks from the Lakers was a stunner last season, and the firing of general manager Nico Harrison has intensified the trade rumors for Davis. With the Mavericks off to a bad start, some believe t hey might ship Davis off to begin a soft rebuild. Whether that comes to fruition will be a topic of discussion as the NBA trade deadline approaches.
For now, Davis will focus on returning to play for the Mavericks. With both Lively and Kyrie Irving out, the Mavs need all the help they can get if they want to try to turn their season around. With their season slipping away, the Mavericks must start stacking victories. The Mavericks' next game will be on Friday when they head to Southern California to face the Los Angeles Lakers at Crypto.com Arena.
