The Patriots locked up the No. 2 seed in the AFC East with Los Angeles ’ loss to the Denver Broncos and the Patriots’ win over the Miami Dolphins in Week 18.
“We’ll get ready and get rolling and try to do what we do every week, which is prepare and figure out who we have available, and what we feel like the keys are gonna be. Try to practice and be ready to go,” Mike Vrabel said after New England’s win. “That’s all we’ve done all year, and that’s all we’ll be able to do this week in the playoffs.”
The Chargers are a familiar opponent for the Patriots. The two teams faced each other three times in the playoffs during the Bill Belichick-Tom Brady era. New England won all three games.
All-time, New England is 3-1 against the Chargers in the playoffs.
