The Minnesota Wild have been one of the best teams in the NHL this season. With 47 points they trail just the Colorado Avalanche (55) and Dallas Stars (51) . John Hynes' team got off to a slow start, and have been on an absolute heater since.
Most notably, the Wild have been on this tear while seven key contributors have missed varying levels of time. Assuming they can get players back, and integrate them with new additions , this team could push the envelope even further.
On Friday the Wild made moves to send four players back to Iowa . That looks like a precursor to a bunch of talent being ready to return.

Carson Lambos made his NHL debut Thursday in a 5-2 win over Columbus. He was worth a plus-one in 10:16 of ice time. Ben Jones has played 20 games for Minnesota this year as a veteran depth piece but has been worth minus-six. Aube-Kubel has an assist in four games, while Spacek came up but did not appear.
Moving four players back to the AHL is a significant amount of roster shuffling. Mats Zuccarrello has been on injured reserve since December 11. Jake Middleton and Vinnie Hinostroza joined him on the 16th. Both Jonas Brodin and Daemon Hunt hit injured reserve before Zach Bogosian and Marcus Johansson suffered injuries themselves.
There is a significant amount of veteran firepower on the defensive side that is currently shelved. Hinostroza returning to the faceoff circle can help set up the offense. In 22 games he has two goals and five points while averaging 11:21 of time on ice.
The Oilers come to Grand Casino Arena with a 17-12-6 record while being 9-9-3 on the road. The Minnesota Wild are 12-3-4 at home and looking to add onto the positive side of the ledger.
