NFL hits one Bengals player with big pay bump
It’s been an odd week for Cincinnati Bengals contract news.
One free agent the Bengals signed had a higher-than-expected cap hit . How the Bengals have been doing contracts, especially compared to Trey Hendrickson’s deal in Baltimore , is concerning.
Some good news?
The Bengals have one player getting a performance-based pay bump from the NFL this offseason.
The honor goes to safety Jordan Battle , who got the biggest and most notable raise among all Bengals players, earning $1.02 million.
The NFL’s system is a format that benefits players with high snap counts but low salaries. Battled played 1,006 snaps last year, a top-30 mark around the NFL.
As a result, Battle is jumping to a base salary of roughly $4.7 million in 2026.
Coincidentally, Bengals brass have talked all offseason about building around Battle , then did so with the signing of Bryan Cook in free agency.
