Notre Dame makes NFL draft history during the first round of 2026
It was a historic night for Notre Dame football , as they set a record that no other school has ever accomplished .
It started off with running back Jeremiyah Love getting selected No. 3 overall by the Arizona Cardinals , then the wait happened. It was assured that the Irish would have a second player go off the board in the first round, but with pick No. 32, the Seattle Seahawks picked running back Jadarian Price , which made history.
Notre Dame becomes the first school ever to have the first two running backs go off the board as shared by the official football social media account. There have only been three total teams to have the top two players at a position taken, Tennessee with offensive tackles in 1991 and Alabama with wide receivers in 2020.
Both Love and Price should be expected to be starters right away, which should impress many, most notably high school recruits who want to make it to the NFL.
