Oregon loses transfer EDGE Blake Purchase to Ole Miss
Like clockwork, the Oregon Ducks have lost another player to another Power 4 program. Edge rusher Blake Purchase was the latest, as he has reportedly committed to the Ole Miss Rebels, per On3's Pete Nakos.
Purchase entered the portal last weekend (Jan. 11) along with a string of other reserve defensive lineman, as the announcements were made that the entire Ducks ' 2025 defensive line was returning for next season. Seeking more opportunities, Purchase and others decided to depart from the program.
The 6-foot-3, 245-pounder was a four-star prospect out of Cherry Creek High School in Englewood, CO. He was ranked as the No. 17 EDGE and No. 129 player overall in the 2023 class, per 247 Sports.
Purchase saw time right away as a Duck, appearing in all 14 games as a true freshman and finishing with five tackles, a pass defensed and a sack. He utilized a redshirt in 2024 before seeing even more time as a redshirt sophomore last season.
Acting as the backup edge rusher who rotated at times with either Matayo Uiagalelei or Teitum Tuioti , Purchase totaled 32 tackles, two sacks, one pass defensed and an interception in 2025. He finished his Oregon career with 39 tackles, 3.5 sacks, two passes defensed and an interception.
Now, Purchase will compete for a starting spot with the Rebels, who are coming off a College Football Playoff Semifinal appearance.
Purchase will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
