The Philadelphia 76ers beat the Boston Celtics 109-100 in Boston in Game 7 last Saturday night.

Joel Embiid delivered an outstanding performance under pressure with 34 points, leading his team in hostile territory to overturn a 3-1 series deficit.

That comeback alone would have been remarkable, but the result carried even greater historical significance.

Both franchises saw long-standing records fall, placing this series firmly among the most memorable in their rivalry.

According to ESPN, the Celtics had never lost a playoff series after leading 3-1 before this defeat. Their 32-0 record in such situations was the best in NBA history.

At the same time, the 76ers erased a record of their own. They had been 0-18 when trailing 3-1 in a series, the most losses without a win in league history.

By completing this turnaround, Philadelphia not only advanced but rewrote their own narrative. It is crazy to think that two opposing streaks from rivals, both unmatched, ended on the same night in Boston.

76ers now turn attention to Knicks challenge

Philadelphia now prepares to face the third-seeded New York Knicks in the next round. The challenge presents a different kind of test following their emotional victory.

Embiid has already raised concerns about the Knicks fanbase and their travelling support. The 32-year-old center noted their strong presence in away arenas throughout the season.

The 76ers star suggested home fans must be ready to respond at the Xfinity Mobile Arena, as he believes crowd influence could become a factor in the series.

After making history against Boston, the second seed, Philadelphia now looks to carry momentum forward.
