The Philadelphia Phillies took a 4-2 lead over the Arizona Diamondbacks in the bottom of the third inning on Saturday thanks to two moonshot home runs from Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper . Schwarber and Harper took control of the game with back-to-back dingers.

The first home run came from Schwarber, as the 33-year-old outfielder scorched a changeup , thrown right down the middle, deep to right field. That home run gave the Phillies three runs on one play. Immediately after Schwarber’s at-bat, Harper launched a solo shot to center field after connecting on a four-seam fastball, thrown right down the middle as well.

It’s safe to say it was a tough inning for Diamondbacks pitcher Brandon Pfaadt . He was actually playing rather well up until that point, as two of the three hits he has allowed through four innings of play came on the back-to-back home runs from Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper.

Schwarber’s home run against the Diamondbacks is his fourth of the 2026 campaign. While he’s largely struggled at the plate to begin the season (entered Saturday’s game with a .182 batting average), he is still finding ways to hit the ball out of the park.

Meanwhile, Harper, who is 33 years old, recorded his third home run of the year with that hit. He’s been a little more consistent at the plate so far this season, but his .245 batting average is still a bit below his career .280 average.

The Phillies have plenty of time to right the ship , as it’s been a bit of a roller coaster for the club. Perhaps the two monster home runs from Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper light a spark under the team for future games.
