Rafael Devers smacked a home run on Wednesday for the Giants. He drove in four runs on the day as San Francisco won 5-0. Philadelphia, meanwhile, managed just four hits. Additionally, this is the second straight game in which the Giants have shutout the Phillies.

After Wednesday’s game, Harper spoke about his team’s struggles. Interestingly, he spoke with some urgency about exactly what his offense has to do for the team to have success.

“I mean, we have to be,” the Phillies star said when asked how the team can become a top-10 offense. “We have to do it. I don’t have any other answer for you besides we have to do it. We gotta be that team. If we’re not, then we’re not going to be where we want to be at the end,” Harper said, via NBC Sports Philadelphia.

Harper is one Phillie who has had a slow start at the plate. He began the season on a brutal 2-for-20 slump before swatting his first home run of the season on April 1st. Since then, he is 6-for-17 with another home run while driving in four runs.

It’s still very early in the season, so Philadelphia certainly has time on its side. However, a slow start can snowball into a poor season, and they need to prevent that from taking course. The Phillies are in action again on Friday when they take on the Arizona Diamondbacks at home.
