According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the team is waiving linebacker Amari Burney .

Burney was a late addition to the Jaguars ' training camp roster, joining the team on Aug. 11 to help bolster the linebacker position, a unit that was navigating injuries.
Burney appeared in all three preseason games for the Jaguars, playing 81 defensive snaps. He logged three quarterback pressures, a sack, and made 10 total tackles. He also recorded a pass breakup, according to PFF.
Burney, 26, was a sixth-round pick by Las Vegas in the 2023 NFL draft. He appeared in seven games as a rookie and then in 17 games during the 2024 season. He did not see the field in 2025 after spending part of that offseason with Tennessee .

He has played a modest 190 defensive snaps over his career, but has been a core special teams contributor, which includes playing 383 snaps across five of the six different phases during the 2024 season.
