- Sam Darnold shares respect for Drake Maye ahead of Super Bowl 60
Sam Darnold’s Seahawks will take on Drake Maye ’s Patriots in Super Bowl 60 on Feb. 8. And even though the two are opponents, Darnold shared his respect for Maye.
“Drake’s a great guy. I was able to spend a little bit of time with him at the Pro bowl last year. He’s a great guy. Ann Michael, his wife, is awesome as well,” Darnold told reporters Monday during his opening night Super Bowl press conference . “They just got a great, great family over there going right now. And Drake’s a great dude. Like I said, was able to hang out with him for a little bit. So he’s a great guy, obviously a great football player, and it seems like he’s a great leader as well for his team. So I can’t say enough good things about Drake.”

Both the Seahawks and the Patriots missed the playoffs last season. But each team did a 180 in 2025, finished 14-3 and punched their ticket to Santa Clara.
Maye and Darnold were both on the injury report last week , but neither seemed concerned about it limiting their ability to play in Super Bowl 60.
