On Monday afternoon, Texas Rangers President of Baseball Operations Chris Young discussed some of the team's injuries as the offseason is now officially underway.
After being struck on the hand with a 94.6-mph fastball in the third-to-last game of the season, Texas will have to figure out the best path forward for Josh Jung .

Young said both a "potential surgical route" and a "non-surgical" route are on the table for the Rangers ' third baseman.
Jung had by far his best season since his rookie year in 2023 but was limited to 104 games. In those contests, Jung hit .399 with 12 home runs and 42 RBI while getting on base at a .365 clip with a .462 slugging percentage. In late July, Jung suffered a left calf strain that would ultimately cost him 46 games.
Rangers' Seager dealing with elbow spur
It was also revealed that shortstop Corey Seager had been dealing with an elbow spur for "at least a couple of months," per Young.

The Rangers will need to determine the best course of action to deal with Seager's injury, but if it does require a surgical operation, it will be minor, and he should make a full recovery, per Young.
Having an elbow spur certainly may have affected Seager's play, as he struggled a bit at times down the stretch of the season, including in the year's final week.
Playing in just 102 games this season, Seager hit .227 with 20 home runs and 51 RBI. The left-handed slugger missed time with both a back injury and a concussion.
Additionally, Texas catcher Danny Jansen may require a small hand procedure. During the season, he missed two months with a forearm strain.

Jansen faces potential hand procedure
Jansen came back strong at the end of the year, earning Rangers Player of the Month honors in September after hitting .314 with three home runs and 10 RBI in 18 games during that span.
Overall on the year, Jansen hit .203 with eight home runs and 26 RBI while being limited to just 67 games.
From the sound of things, all three of the Rangers who could need surgery seem to only potentially require minor procedures and will presumably be ready to go for Spring Training in 2027.
As for the Rangers' front office, they will now be tasked with trying to find the best path forward after a disappointing 80-82 finish and missing the playoffs for the third straight season.
