The Pittsburgh Steelers are showing signs that they're certainly interested in plucking a receiver in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft later this month. After previously hosting Washington's Denzel Boston for a pre-draft meeting, Mike McCarthy's team is getting to know USC's Makai Lemon on the South Side, as well.
Lemon, who's visiting on Thursday, is the No. 2 wideout on the NFL Mock Draft Database's 2026 big board, behind only Ohio State's Carnell Tate. Lemon is the No. 13 overall player on that list.
"High-skill, high-volume slot receiver with average size but extraordinary ball skills," NFL.com draft analyst Lance Zierlein wrote in a scouting report. "Lemon has room for refinement, but not much. He's intelligent, confident and polished with the ability to make plays on all three levels. Tempo-driven route-runner who misdirects man coverage and separates out of turns but is fairly average after the catch.
"He's an exceptional ball-tracker with excellent catch timing and few focus drops. He wins more combat catches than he loses. Lemon is a plug-and-play, quarterback-friendly talent with first-round value and Pro Bowl upside."
The Steelers have also brought in Cincinnati's Jeff Caldwell, Kentucky's Kendrick Law and UConn's Skyler Bell for pre-draft visits.
