Potential Pittsburgh Steelers first-round 2026 NFL Draft target, Texas A&M wide receiver KC Concepcion , is already running again after he underwent a procedure on his knee earlier this month.
Concepcion had a scope done on his knee a few weeks ago, but according to video posted from the Texas A&M pro day on Wednesday, is already running full speed. According to a report by Mike Garafalo of NFL Network, Concepcion will be recovered in time to take part in rookie minicamp for whatever team selects him — usually just a week or two after the draft.
Concepcion had a knee scope, performed by Dr. Daniel Cooper, the Dallas Cowboys ' team physician, in the first week of March. Concepcion ran drills and did interviews, but did not perform athletic testing at the 2026 NFL Combine , and did the same at the Texas A&M pro day on Wednesday.
That means that two of the projected six first-round wide receivers in the 2026 NFL Draft class will not record a 40-yard dash time before the draft. Washington wide receiver Denzel Boston declined to run the 40 at both the combine and his pro day on Monday, citing the advice of his agent.
Ohio State's Carnell Tate , seen as likely the first wide receiver off the board, ran a pedestrian 4.53-second 40-yard dash at the combine, but that hasn't hurt his draft stock at all, and he chose not to run the 40 again at Ohio State's pro day on Wednesday.
Makai Lemon skipped testing at the combine, but put down a 4.46-second 40 at USC's pro day. Indiana's Omar Cooper Jr. ran a 4.47 in Indy.
Arizona State's Jordyn Tyson didn't run at the combine, citing an injury, and also skipped the ASU pro day. He is expected to host a private workout for teams on April 17.
Concepcion is currently the No. 31 player on the NFL Mock Draft Database consensus big board and the No. 6 wide receiver in the class, behind Tate, Lemon, Tyson, Cooper and Boston. The Steelers have the 21st pick in the first round.
Concepcion will most likely be a slot wide receiver at the NFL level, which is what the Steelers will probably want to pair with 6-foot-4 outside receivers DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr.
The 5-foot-11 1/2, 196-pound wide receiver had a strong season at Texas A&M after transferring from NC State. In 13 games, he caught 61 passes for 919 yards and an SEC-leading nine touchdowns.
